Dear CSCI-316 Students, Two PDF documents are attached. These documents have also been posted in the Course Documents section of the Brightspace site for your class. The "Syntax-Reading-and-Exercises-B" document gives reading assignments and exercises on programming language syntax. The document includes solutions to its exercises, but you should not look at any solution until after you have worked on the corresponding exercise! The "C++ Reading Assignment" document gives a reading assignment on method overriding and polymorphic method calls in C++. This reading assignment is to be done before the final exam. Method overriding and polymorphic calls are very important features of object-oriented programming. The TinyJ virtual machine you will be asked to complete next month will depend on these features. The next lecture will cover material that relates to the reading and exercises assigned in the Syntax-Reading-and-Exercises-B document. If possible, do all of that work before our 23rd class meeting on Wednesday of next week (11/26). ================================= T. Yung Kong, D.Phil.
