Components of case tools.

So, on this topic we are going to discuss
now.

So, case tools can be broadly divided into
the following parts based on their use at

a particular SDLC stage.

So, at first we are going to concentrate
on the central repository.

Case tools require a central
repository which can serve as

a source of common
integrated and consistent information.

And general repository is a central place
of storage where the product

specifications, the requirement
documentation, documents and the related

reports and the diagrams and other
useful

information regarding the management
will be stored.

And central repository
is also it will serve as a

data dictionary that
means, the data about data.

So, there are so many uses of this central
repository where we will be keeping so

many reports, so many documents,
recommends whatever we require they will

be kept in this particular central
repository.

And also the different
diagrams and useful information will

be also the place at
this particular central repository.

So, we are going to segregate this case
tools into two parts.

One is the upper case tools.

So, upper case tools are used in the
planning, analysis and design stages of SDLC.

So, you see the planning, analysis and
design there in the upper part of the SDLC.

And lower case tools means, the lower case
tools are used in implementation,

testing and respective maintenance.

You can find that this three phases are
coming in the lower part of the SDLC.

So, just consider this very diagram.

We are having the
planning, analysis and

design upper case
tools will be handling them.

And then implementation, testing and
maintenance,

the lower case tools
will be handling them.

And here we
are having the integrated case tools which

can work in the
upper level and also in the lower level.

So, integrated case tools.

So, let us discuss this one.

Integrated case tools.

So, it means that the integrated case
tools are helpful in all the stages of.

SDLC from the recommend gathering to the
testing and documentation.

So, case tools can be grouped together,
if they have similar functionalities and

process activities and capability of
getting integrated with other tools.
